Hello all!
I am writing this week about things that made me smile this week!
With so much negativity going on about schools and teachers I thought I would start focusing on the positive.  Of course, my students make me smile everyday!

I discovered this week that one of my students might be a little OCD.
My math tools have never been so organized!

Even the pattern block templates are all lined up!

We started a new grading period on Monday!  That means NEW PENCILS!

Aren't they pretty?

I use Everyday Math in my classroom, so we count the days that we have been in school.
My creative son decided my days marker needed some jazzing up!

That is a self-portrait by the O-town.  He is just along for the ride!

And, last but not least, I got some fun new school supplies this week!
Not sure what I am going to use this for yet, but it is fun!
Happiness is fun new teacher pens!

What made you smile this week?

  1. What a lovely post! It's far too easy to be negative,so this is just what I needed! I'm really proud of my students' writing stamina. We've started using writing warm ups, and on Friday there were all busy and had their pencils moving. One students even spontaneously said, "Yay!" My kids and I built some rather ugly snowmen today, and we had fun doing it. Thanks again for your positive post!

    1. Thanks Jan! Writing stamina can be a hard thing to build. My kiddos love Writer's Workshop! Thanks so much for stopping by! I am hoping to make this a weekly thing! So many good things happen...I want to keep appreciating those!

  2. Thanks for the reminder! :) I've been trying to focus on finding joy (and avoid the complaining). I love your days marker decoration and that cute kitten! I'm smiling because it was warm enough to go out for recess, I finished grading our math tests and my students are brainstorming an informational class book about what happens in second grade. Keep smiling!

    1. Thanks so much for stopping by Amy! I keep looking for the happy!

I love comments! Thanks!
