Welcome to another installation of The Real Teachers of Blog County!
I don't know about you, but one thing that I love to do (when I have some free time, wink, wink)
is to sit down with a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine) and read a good book!
I want to share some of my faves today!
1. Favorite Children's book:
I am a HUGE fan of the Harry Potter series.
Yes, I have read them all. I have seen all the movies. I have been to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios, and I have a Harry Potter tattoo. Fangirl much?
2. Favorite "Grown Up" book:
I love John Irving. My favorite grown up book is A Prayer for Owen Meany.
I still haven't found a book I love as much as this one.
My youngest son is even named after this book!
3. Favorite "Teacher" book:
I use the strategies that are described in Debbie Miller's book everyday during my reading instruction in my classroom! I am also lucky enough to have met Debbie Miller and I have a signed copy of the first edition of this book. The one pictured is the second edition and it is even better than the first! I couldn't live without this one!
4. Favorite "Guilty Pleasure" book:
Yup, read them all. Didn't like the first movie (not a fan of the actors that they chose to play the parts of Bella and Edward) so I didn't see the others. Yes, I have a preference: Team Edward all the way!
I would love to read about the books that you love! I am working on making my summer reading list and am always looking for suggestions!

I really want to get out our scissors and markers and allow my kids a bit of down time to create! We have been tested to DEATH!!
ReplyDeleteI would agree with that! Scissors and markers are always a hit in my room as well!

We are making grouchy ladybugs (using pictures of their best grouchy faces) on Friday! They loved just waking the picture. :) I'm also looking forward to our walking field trip to the park on the last day of school in a few weeks.
ReplyDeleteWe take a walking trip to our downtown area! It is my favorite trip!

The end of the testing and data recording... I look forward to reading Grandfather's Tang's Story and letting the kids play around with my class sets of tangrams. It is fun, and they are really using some gray matter to see and copy the pictures... then see what they can make on their own!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like fun as well! Thanks so much for stopping by!
