Invited...and a sale!

So, here's a question.  If your kiddos invite you to their stuff do you go?  I do.  They don't always invite me, but if they do I really try to make an effort to go.  Tonight I am going to the piano recital of a student.  When I asked her mom for the details she said:  "When I told her that I couldn't go, she said that she had to ask you!"  How could I refuse?  I can't wait.

Oh!  and I am participating in Tpt big Sunday sale!  I can't wait!  See you there!

  1. Hi Hilary,

When I am invited, I always try to attend for a least a short time. I've been to a ton birthday parties-in skating rinks, parks, you name it. I've also been to ball games, talents shows, and dance recitals.

It's sweet to see students outside of school interacting with their friends and families.

  3. If invited, I always attend!! It's interesting to see the kids out of our normal school environment.

  4. This year I started going to events - even if the kids didn't invite me. :) I asked the parents if they did an outside activities and surprised them. Going to one basketball game had me see 6 of my students (their teams happened to be playing each other)

  5. How fun! I got to see several students at a baseball game a couple of years ago! I felt like a rockstar! Everyone was so excited to see me, I had to take pictures with the kiddos! It was so fun! I will have to try that! Thanks!

  6. That's awesome! I love that you go to their events. I've only been invited to birthday parties, and I've not attended those. :)

  7. I found you through Currently. My husband still hasn't forgiven me for a student's dance recital I dragged him to a few years ago! I try to go when I can, but now that I have kids of my own it is a lot harder!
